Properties:

Melamine cyanurate, also known as melamine cyanurate, is a nitrogen-containing halogen-free environmentally friendly flame retardant, appearing as a white fine powder. This product is economical, highly efficient, with excellent electrical and mechanical properties, no discoloration, low smoke, and low corrosion. At the same time, it is safe for users, compatible with the environment, and has good thermal stability, making it very suitable for material processing.

Flame retardant principle:

Melamine cyanurate (MCA) sublimates and absorbs heat, lowering the surface temperature of the polymer and cutting off air, accelerating melt dripping to remove heat and combustibles, altering the thermal-oxidative degradation pathway to rapidly carbonize into non-flammable carbonaceous material. These carbon substances swell and foam, covering the substrate surface, forming an insulating layer that isolates contact with air and prevents the escape of combustibles, effectively preventing continuous combustion. Meanwhile, the non-flammable gases produced from decomposition cause the material to expand into a foam layer, greatly reducing thermal conductivity and facilitating self-extinguishing upon removal from the flame.
