This flame retardant features a small particle size and narrow particle size distribution. It appears as a pure white powder, is fluffy and easy to disperse, and is also relatively prone to dusting. When adding it to EPDM for flame retardancy, measures should be taken to overcome its tendency to dust, adding it in multiple small portions to ensure that the actual addition amount is consistent with the designed formulation.<\/p>\n<p>Usage: For reference, we used an EPDM pre-mixed rubber provided by a customer for testing. After direct vulcanization, this pre-mixed rubber has a hardness of 56 degrees. Formulated with 80 parts of the pre-mixed rubber and 20 parts HF-1204, the flame-retardant material thus prepared can achieve a 1.6 mm V-0 rating.<\/p>\n<p>For other applications, because the goals of different engineers may vary, the flammable components in the rubber may also differ. Simply copying the above proportion may not achieve the desired flame-retardant effect. Therefore, we recommend conducting small-scale tests and inspections first to determine the appropriate ratio.
